Con Forms wear sensing technology is the first of its kind for boom pipes. The sensor operates while the piping system is running, providing real-time data in the actual environment where wear occurs. This sensor is not a replacement for regular inspections of your boom system. It is a visual reminder to operators of system wear and the importance of proactive inspection and maintenance.
WHY SHOULD I USE IT? Low cost insurance policy. Pipe is very costly; this is another tool to track the health of your system. IS THIS A GUARANTEE AGAINST FAILURE? No, this is a non-invasive tool to inform you on the health of your system. Pipe rotation, physical inspection and yardage tracking are still vital best practices. HOW DO I INSTALL IT? The wear sensor is built into a coupling. Any 148mm metric coupling not in a swivel location can be used. WHEN TO REPLACE? With a new boom kit or new pipe in that area. Note: after a pipe rotation, check the sensor gasket for function/damage before reuse. WHAT WILL IT DO? A flashing green LED light confirms “Let’s go pumping”. When the sensor wears to 50-70% of its life, a fast-flashing red light will be triggered.
