SPIDER CONCRETE PLACERS

18-3 The ORIGINAL. Over 20 years of experience and innovation have resulted in the most advanced, non-tracked Spider available anywhere. Strength, durability, and smart design from the industry leader. 16Z The champion for indoor pours. A user-friendly, low-ceiling clearance height, combined with pinpoint track maneuverability, and a reach that matches 20m boom trucks make this model a fan favorite since its North American introduction in 2017.

22Z Our extended offering provides the longest possible boom for a crawler Spider available. Excellent for large slab work, or as a less expensive and non- invasive replacement for traditional tower-mounted placing booms.

18-3 SPIDER CONCRETE PLACERS

The 18-3 is a cost-effective and low-impact alternative to tower-mounted placer booms. Unlike its large-scale cousins, the compact 18-3 spider offers versatility and low jobsite impact with the same productivity. Low Jobsite Impact: Using the 18-3 does not require holes in multiple floors to be designed, built, and filled in to make room for the tower boom. The Spider’s minimized weight and loading allow for minimal shoring from underneath, and the more compact unit presents minimal risk to the tower cranes above. Low Overall Weight: The crane capacity and shoring requirements are drastically decreased due to the low overall unit weight. Fast Installation: The Spider unit requires minimal site preparation prior to placement and can be relocated easily by fly-complete crane placement. Low Budget Impact: Same boom design concepts performing the same functions for a fraction of the capital outlay and costs associated with set-up, operations, and maintenance.

16Z SPIDER CONCRETE PLACERS

The 16Z is a cost-effective solution for all low- ceiling, indoor concrete placements. The low 13 ′ 1” opening height allows for operation all the way into most commercial and warehouse pours. The maneuverability of the track unit combined with the small outrigger profile allows for customer machine setups to match the jobsite dimensions, resulting in the maximum coverage possible. The Euro STAGE V, 74 HP Perkins engine with flow-through DPF allows this track unit to work indoors without inconvenient emissions service intervals. For non-flat applications, the Perkins can power the unit up to 46% grade (25°) terrains and adjust for unlevel conditions up to 20 degrees. This tracked unit is also great for mobility on mat pours where a crane is not always available. The 16Z has the flexibility to quickly transform into a stand-alone placing unit with the removal of 4 pins. In non-tracked applications like high- rise pours, the unit is lifted into place, and powered by either an engine (Honda gas or Perkins diesel) or electric motor (480V 60Hz 3P 20A). The 4-arm Z-fold articulation pattern supplies great placement versatility in a compact and lightweight package.

BRIDGE DECK SPREADERS

The CF Bridge Deck Spreader (concrete placing equipment) provides a method of distributing concrete on bridge decks that are not accessible by other means of concrete delivery. The Bridge Deck Spreader provides a 360-degree, articulating, two-stage boom that provides maximum maneuverability for the accurate placement of concrete. The standard boom reach is 32’, but custom placers and sectional truss system widths are available upon request for specific applications. Please consult the factory. The boom of the Bridge Deck Spreader is self- contained on an adjustable truss system. The truss assembly is fitted with bogies that provide the Bridge Deck Spreader the freedom to travel on the screed rail and not interfere with the steel reinforcement already installed on the bridge deck. TUNNEL PLACERS Con Forms Tunnel Placers provide the most efficient and safe method of pumping concrete into a tunnel form. The CF Tunnel Placer is equipped with a hydraulic-powered boom and self-propelled drive features. The boom rotates 300 degrees and extends to accommodate a variety of tunnel form diameters. The self-sealing connection port provides a pressure relief feature that prevents over-pressurizing the concrete at the form. Partnered with the tunnel placer is a choice of horizontal or vertical scissor carts, which provide continuous delivery of concrete to the tunnel placer while traveling the distance of the form. Units can be supplied with various power options, and offer the choice of manual or remote control. Please consult the factory. SPECIFICATIONS Hydraulically powered telescoping boom Boom rotates 300 degrees Quick and easy boom-to-port connection and disconnection Simple operation Scissors cart travels easily on rail system

I was truly surprised how smooth the Spider was. There were no limitations to pumping through it. It could handle whatever speed we wanted to pump through with little to no bounce and an overall very smooth boom. This is a piece of equipment we truly should’ve bought sooner!

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

Concrete Strategies, headquartered in St. Louis, MO, has been a partner with Con Forms for over 10 years. When they needed to add some versatility to their pumping equipment, Fleet Manager John Tinnin reached out to CF’s Jim Bodeker. They collaborated to determine what would be the best fit based on their existing capabilities and their future project needs. The Con Forms 18-3 Spider was chosen as the best option for versatility and value. In September 2022, Concrete Strategies quickly put their new Spider to work on the Vande East Apartments project, a 14-story residential/commercial development in St Louis’ City Foundry district. “We utilized the Spider on this shorter high-rise due to limited areas to set up a pump. It only took us 20 mins to move it and set up again to continue pouring. The fact that it can be lifted in two pieces (boom and counterweight) came in handy, since one end of the pour we had weight limitations on the crane.” Mr. Tinnin noted via email. John continued, “With the type of floor we had we only needed to brace the level underneath the Spider, so there wasn’t much extra work at all to use it. The Spider Placer is a nice alternative to a high-rise system on these shorter buildings. I was truly surprised how smooth the Spider was. There were no limitations to pumping through it. It could handle whatever speed we wanted to pump through with little to no bounce and an overall very smooth boom. This is a piece of equipment we truly should’ve bought sooner! We have learned through the years that Con Forms has the highest quality pumping accessories such as pipe, hoses, clamps, and even wash out balls. We have tried cheaper alternatives and have had clamps fail, ends come off hoses, and even pipe that the ends were not welded correctly.” The Con Forms team is always thrilled to see our equipment in action; building the infrastructure that helps our communities grow and succeed.
